On-Line Business Traps and Pitfalls

Starting an on-line business is becoming a popular way to make extra money for people around the world. The internet is seen by many as an opportunity to ‘get rich quick’ and be able to quit your day job.

Financial Freedom is the goal of just about everyone and savvy internet marketers are pushing products they say will show you how to achieve that quickly.

Marketing to Internet Marketers is a huge business. It used to be that a new product would be launched to this niche 3 or 4 times a year, but already in 2008 we have had that many and more and we are only 8 weeks into the year!! This year could be VERY expensive for a lot of people!

• Is your in-box filled with offers for products from the so called ‘gurus’ of internet marketing?
• Are you feeling overwhelmed with all the information? Or…
• Are you going broke buying all these wonderful books and software packages?
• Is your hard drive full of ’stuff’ you have found online about internet marketing?
• Do you ‘grab’ all the freebie offers going - just in case you may be able to make some money out of it?

If you are into marketing on-line then I am guessing that you can say ‘yes’ to most of the above questions. But the BIG QUESTION is —- are you making any money???? Are you on track to reaching your financial goals? Can you show a positive return on your investments in the products you have purchased? My bet is that the answer will be either ‘no’ or ‘breaking even’ or ‘a little bit’.

The biggest trap the majority of people fall into is to believe that they need to find out what the latest trick or system is that will make them rich. How to’s are the biggest sellers on-line. The problem is, thousands buy the products and then find there is yet another ‘must have’ offer being launched, and rush to get out the ol’ credit card again!

In the meantime, having been so busy reading all the offers in your inbox, and going to the sales pages and being seduced into buying another product, the original products just sit on your computer, largely forgotten.

Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot of quality information being sold, but unfortunately, a lot of rubbish too! The trick is to know the difference.

So… what can you do to overcome all the ‘time and money wasting’ activities you have been caught up in? Take ACTION! The most successful on-line marketers are just that because they took ‘ACTION’. This is the best thing you can do for yourself. Make a plan - and WORK YOUR PLAN.

Unsubscribe yourself from all those lists, cancel those subscriptions - especially the ones that you don’t use very often. GET OFF the multitude of mailing lists that fill your in-box every day and WASTE YOUR TIME and MONEY. Focus on your goals and work your plan every day. Don’t allow distractions until you have achieved your goal for the day. Resist the temptations you have fallen prey to before and stick to your plan.

You can be successful and achieve your financial goals by working your plan. The internet is NOT a get rich quick scheme! It takes a lot of hard work and patience. You won’t get rich overnight, but you can build a long term, successful income if you approach it like you would any off-line business.

Set your goals - follow your plan - take ACTION and be patient. Tried and True advice!
